We built ScrapeSafe for people who drive low. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

Information We Collect

When you use ScrapeSafe, we collect the following:

• Email address and name when you create an account
• Your car's ride height and suspension specs to calculate safe routes
• Location data while you're actively using navigation
• Photos and videos you choose to upload to your profile or build showcase
• Obstacle reports you submit (location, type, and description)
• App usage data to improve performance and fix bugs

How We Use Your Information

Your information helps us run the app:

• Calculate routes based on your car's actual clearance
• Show you obstacles and problem areas on your route
• Let you share your build with the community if you want
• Send you alerts about obstacles on routes you save
• Process payments if you upgrade to Pro or host meets
• Fix bugs and make the app better

What We Share

We don't sell your data. Period. Here's what's visible to other users:

• Your username and profile photo (if you add one)
• Build photos you post to the showcase
• Obstacle reports you submit (location and description, not your name unless you choose)
• Meets you host (meet details and your username)

Everything else stays private.

Location Data

We only track your location when you're actively navigating. We don't track you in the background or when the app is closed. Your location is used to show you nearby obstacles and calculate routes. We don't share your location with anyone except you.

Payments

If you upgrade to Pro or host meets, payments are processed through Stripe. We don't store your credit card information. Stripe handles all payment data securely.

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely and encrypted. We keep your account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days. Obstacle reports stay in the database (anonymized) because the community depends on them.

Your Rights

You control your data. You can:

• View all data we have about you
• Download your data anytime
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Turn off location tracking (but the app won't work)
• Remove photos or posts from your profile
• Opt out of marketing emails (we barely send any anyway)

Changes to This Policy

If we change this privacy policy, we'll email you before the changes take effect. If you keep using ScrapeSafe after that, you're accepting the new terms.
